In this lesson you will learn 1) how to name notes in music and the pattern they create; 2) basic rhythm learning with ta and ti; and 3) the song Who's wearing blue? in English and Spanish
En esta lección aprenderás 1) cómo nombrar a las notas musicales y los patrones que crea; 2) lectura de ritmos básicos con ta y ti; y 3) la canción ¿Quién usa azul? en inglés y español.
About the lesson
According to Chen-Haftek and Mang (2012), the development of musical and linguistic abilities are closely related. Certain elements like pitch and frequency are commonly used in language AND music.
I have developed a lesson where the student is exposed to exactly the same content twice: the first time in English and the second in Spanish. The student might not understand completely the lesson in their non-mother tongue, but they will recognize the gestures and activities. Eventually, students will be able to relate and understand both languages more easily.
I have also included the song Who is wearing blue? as a simple but effective way to introduce both languages in one song. Using songs with text is a way to facilitate language development in young children (Chen-Haftek ＆ Mang, 2012).

De acuerdo con Chen-Haftek and Mang (2012), el desarrollo de las habilidades musicales y lingüísticas están sumamente relacionadas. Algunos elementos como las frecuencias y los tonos son usados regularmente en el lenguaje Y la música.
He desarrollado una lección en donde el estudiante estará expuesto al mismo contenido dos veces: una en inglés y la segunda en español. Puede que los estudiantes no entiendan del todo la lección que no esté en su lengua materna, pero reconocerán los gestos y las actividades. Eventualmente, los estudiantes serán capaces de relacionar y entender los dos idiomas más fácilmente.
También he incluido la canción ¿Quién usa azul? para introducir de manera simple pero efectiva los dos idiomas en una canción. Al usar canciones con texto, se facilita el desarrollo de lenguaje en niños pequeños (Chen-Haftek ＆ Mang, 2012).

Who is wearing blue? is a common children's song that uses a simple pattern with the notes E, G and A as recommended by the Ontario Arts Curriculum for Grade 1.
